As a play on words, Blue is both literal and figurative; painted with a monochromatic (blue) palette, while immersed in melancholy.

In addition, this deflated and drowning portrayal of myself, with an ocean pouring out from within, is actually the perfect representation for this period in my creative journey as well... having now loved and lost for the first time, and, having signed this series of paintings with a heart (as the source and subject).
