Description:
After graphite and colored ink came the yearning for color; and this Prismacolor drawing became my first deep dive into blending, learning to create graduations in tone and seamless transitions from one tone/hue to another.
There's nothing profound about this piece, per se, except that this is my earliest memory of finding a "flow state", which heightened focus and enabled me to work through tedious details that may have otherwise been rushed).
Sadly, however, even after conducting a Google image search, I was unable to find the source image for this drawing, which I originally found in the pages of a fashion magazine, more than 30 years ago. So... I am unable to credit the original photographer or designer for the reference and inspiration.
