Blossoming
2002

Medium:
Pencil on Paper
Dimensions:
7 x 5.25 inches
Genre/Style:
Surrealism
Description:
Although not intentionally, Blossoming is an extension of Inverse, in the way it presents the subject of identity, in form.
So, if Inverse was an observation of one's reflection, through introspection; Blossoming then, is the inhabitance of that reflection, through the senses, a depiction of a nude female figure that unconsciously represents myself, a man.
This suggestive pencil drawing is certainly about sexual awakening. However, what is not obvious on the surface is that, while the "flowering" figure is undeniably feminine; "she," is purely an echo of my own sensuality, in nonbinary expression.
