As I was beginning to embrace the creative freedom found in Automatic Drawing, Tortured Landscape was certainly a peek behind a dark curtain... for which no honest explanation can be offered, as it was still composed in a meditative state (somewhere between awareness and unconsciousness).

However, the thing I do find interesting about this drawing is that it's gloomy undertones may be at least partially attributed to feelings of uncertainty, with the reality of life after high school and young adulthood now looming.
