Although perception does help shape our realities, perception is not necessarily "the truth".
 
"Spectra" explores this concept through jarring juxtaposition, by introducing contrasting elements that are part of their own separate narratives. Although, those elements are related enough (in effect) that they may also play a role in an overarching storyline, depending on how the viewer perceives the work.
