As a first foray into oil painting, this piece marks the true beginning of the artist's lifelong affair with the brush, but is still referred to as "uneventful", in concept; because this painting's imagery purely developed on its own, without intention and with no attempt at constructing a narrative.
Objectively, this surrealistic dreamscape was produced as a meditation, purely focused on the processes of mixing color, applying paint and blending patchwork imagery into a seamless composition.
Psychologically, however, The Uneventful Dream also became the bridge between a dormant dream-state and awakened dreaming, providing the first-impressions of psychological artifacts
explored in later work.
