Although this painting technically started with a sketch of a friend named Sara, sitting on her porch step. Sara is not the subject.

Instead, Sara was simply the human element (with no personal attachments between us) that anchored this painting; ultimately pursued as an exploration of merging shapes and textures, as I was learning to manipulate light and suggest textures.

Hence, the title; Sara, Not Sara :)
