Description:
This expressionistic painting was originally titled Embracing the Void, because that is what its surface suggests.
However, after an honest deliberation, deconstructing before reconstruction, I ultimately arrived at four conclusions.
First, I can only account for my own experience. Secondly, to embrace anything implies an awareness of it. Whereas, thirdly, I was in fact oblivious of an existing void. And lastly, that The Void was only acknowledged when it was too late to reconcile, as we were already arriving at the punctuation that would conclude our story.
So, what this painting truly represents is a couple that is unaware of the void that exists between them; even though those around them could (probably) see it.
At least, that's what it felt like, after the fact.
