Honoring My Design

I may never know if I am lucky
for pursuing a passion;

feeling compelled,

more than wanting,

to birth that cumbersome image;

the seed

that grows
and needs to be released.

Although,

I do find solace in knowing
that I honor my design,

and by so doing

not only choose

my own suffering

but trust

life's unfolding;

on this long

uncharted path

where many are called,
but few are chosen.

What is Passion?

In conversation, it's easy to glaze over the idea of Pursuing a Passion, because its implications are numerous and rarely defined in the moment. So, this subject is often romanticized as a Free-Spirited endeavor that satisfies some deep curiosity or intense interest.

Interestingly then, that assessment is not wrong. Although, the veneer is only ever half the story, if that, and not only mutes the conversation we all really yearn to have, but also denies us the opportunity for deeper connection.

After all, our passions are the crosses we bear; each and every one of us. And, they not only come in many shapes and sizes... but at a cost as well.

Our passions then, are found in the sacrifices we make, whether for loved ones or in pursuit of some goal; right or wrong, and, for better or worse.

So, in many ways, we often share this experience, despite our imaginary boundaries, as we all fight to carve our own paths through Life.
